There may be similar books within the same sub-genre as The Guardian Society but this book is entirely unique on its own. The book has an awesome plot; a mixture of paranormal, action and romance. Vampires have always been my favorite paranormal creatures and after this book, I love them even more! Aside from the super keep- you- at- the- edge- of- your- seat action and breathtaking romance, I really, really like the characters of this book. My favorite of course are Mylo and Sean. She is far from being the boring, ol’ Mary Sue and he isn’t another Mr. Cullen, he’s even better! The way they connect as a couple is relatable to a real life couple. I love it! The way they spoke to each other, the way they treated each other and how they like to challenge each other is completely relatable to real- life couples.

This is exactly her book that I needed to completely escape the stress that comes along with the holiday rush. This book had me glued to my seat. I found myself reading for about five hours straight and if I did have to put it down, I’d always rush through whatever it was I needed to do, to get back to this book. For her debut novel, J.D. Kirkland did an amazing job in delivering a very exciting story with a solid plot that keeps it’s audience at the edge of their seats and leave them begging for more. I surely know I am. I can’t wait for her next release!
