Summary: (Goodreads)
Demon hunter Ty Burdin hung up his guns, knife, trench coat and fedora a year ago. Bags packed, hands washed of all demon politics, he’s done. Forever.
In fact, to get far far away, he dragged Nora, his rockabilly secretary, from Miami to the Tennessee mountains where he’s lived a life of peace—if peace can be defined as drowning in scotch and taking private eye jobs to keep the lights on. Jobs for real people. Not demons.
No demons.
He’s retired from that. Remember?
Demon hunters aren’t a dime a dozen, though, and when Ty’s brother asks him for a favor—just one—what’s a brother to do? Agreeing to take down one hillbilly demon shouldn’t take that long. In. Decapitate. Out. Favor complete. Back to the office where Nora and his bottle of whiskey are waiting.
Unfortunately for Ty, staying retired doesn’t seem to be in the cards, and an avalanche of bad luck draws him right back to an agency he despises and the career that nearly cost him his sanity.
This time, Ty has no way out and will have to face his own demons just to survive.
I had a lot of expectations for this book and I must say that I was extremely pleased! I was instantaneously interested in this book after reading the summary because I am a HUGE Supernatural fan! I mean, the Supernatural CW TV show. And this book really reminded me of the show and man, this book did not disappoint! This was such a fun read, I honestly could not put it down. If I didn’t have other things to attend to I honestly would have just stuck myself in my reading corner and read this book in one sitting. The plot was so intriguing. I absolutely enjoyed reading about the supernatural world created by Alexander Nader. It’s- WOW!!!
And Ty Burdin! As I read this book, I could not stop myself from picturing Ty Burdin looking like this handsome guy…
Dean Winchester. Yes, the dude from Supernatural.
O.O oh.my….
I think I may have a problem…
Yes! Dean Winchester is my Ty Burdin. Ty Burdin is a very interesting character. I love how complex he is with a very complicated past that greatly affects his present. And I love his personality!!! I enjoyed the sarcastic remarks and snarks. He’s such a well- rounded character and in addition to his lifestyle, makes him such a well written and interesting character!
Overall, the book is an awesome supernatural read with very interesting and well- written characters! I would love to read more of Alexander Nader’s work!!!
My rating:
Would you recommend this book?: YES!
So if Ty is Dean, does that make Hartnet season 1 Sam?
Haha YES! But a lot more mature looking season 1 Sam 😀
Exactly, but a little less broody.
Exactly. But Ty and Hartnet are awesome and unique characters on their own.
Would it be possible that there’s a second book on the way? 😀
A second and a third. Burdin of Choice is due in November and the third book will be summer of next year.
whoot whoot!!!! I’ll be looking forward to your books 😀
