To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters – never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family’s past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he’s willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City – whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the third installment of the New York Times bestselling series The Mortal Instruments.

My Thoughts

WOW!!! I am- WOW!!! I would like to start off by saying how twisted the plot is on this third installment to The Mortal Instruments series. It’s crazy!!! I absolutely love it because Cassandra Clare displays the strength of her characters through the way they all handled the plot twists. In this installment, Clary deals with her family issues a lot more than in the first two books and at a whole other level. Trust me! It’s in a whole other level! And of course, whatever Clary goes through Jace goes through it with her as well. Simon, on the other hand, has more paranormal changes/ adjustments to deal with concerning his circumstance. Like Clary and Jace, he too goes through somewhat of a relationship status change (something like that, you just need to read the book!!!). Yes, I absolutely love the way Ms. Clare handled the plot as well as the character development. It’s all so fluid and detailed.

Overall, Cassandra Clare did such an amazing job with the third installment to the series. It got me really hyped up for the next book 😀
